A small update about what we've been doing the last week.

We've been reading over the feedback from our visitors and have been talking to people behind closed doors about how we can help eachother. Hopefully something springs of this in the next few months that benefits our visitors and those web sites.

We've done more though, we've been building an online store for our we talk tv audience. If you like a certain show and wish to find the dvd or even the dvd box set .. we've made it simpler for you. Just go to our online store and type in the title. You will be presented with the options we have to offer. Amazon will securely handle your purchase and ship it quickly to your home. We get a small commission from each sale, meaning if you buy from our online store you help us grow our web site and your support is very much appreciated. It arrived earlier this morning and I watched the first episode already. It's awesome.

We're over a month old, and that calls for some statistics. According to http://www.quantcast.com/wetalk.tv we are now ranked under 500,000 out of 2 million+ in their web site ranking. With over 18,000 page views and 5,000 unique visits. We were aiming for half of these stats, so it seems we've done well. Thanks everybody for joining our site and participating.

Another small update

A problem with the blog permissions has been fixed now, and I invite everybody to go play with the blog. You can comment on staff blogs, and you can start your own blogs I think. Enjoy.

Also, a few new icons have been added to make the design a bit more complete. More will follow soon.

Another update:

We've updated the site and moved it to a new server, we've also improved our backup system, and we've worked on the content of our site. Additionally we've upgraded the SEO software to increase site performance. There have been more 'behind closed doors' changes for the site, but here's a visual change to our site. Set up our new staff members, cleaned up the archived forums.
And so much more .. every day we do a few little things. Including fighting spam!

Even though we are still organizing the forum structures and setting up our permissions and what not .. we are also doing productive work that you might indirectly notice.

Attachments storage has been optimized, and plans are made to improve this dramatically in the near future. Which should improve caching and load times for everybody.

The databases have been maintained with analyzing their tables and their data, and running optimize and repair on them, preventing corruption.

Additionally, the attachments have been rebuild in all posts. With 95% quality out of 100%, reducing file size, without compromising visual quality. The number was way lower first.

We have also taken more dramatic measures against the spam. Together with our built-in scripts and third party addons, and working close together with third party web sites we hope to block and prevent registrations by spam (though impossible probably); but together with the help from not just our staff members, but also our community. We can now better identify and report spam and deal with it.

You should expect a cleaner network; making your browse experience a lot better.

We've recently have been re-organizing our setup, adding a few new forum and community managers and moderators to the pool of staff. Welcome!
