Network update:
We are a network of sites, one site has community specific content, that won't show on the other sites, but .. it's all a network. Your registration and login works on all the sites on the network.
The biggest complaint from users was the inconvenience of being unable to login on one site and staying then being logged in on all the sites. This has now been addressed.
A small note: If you specifically block cookies quite strictly (in particular, so-called "3rd party cookies"), this might not work for you. Whitelist our domains or lower your browser restrictions regarding accepting cookies.
Another small note: We are backwards compatible, meaning your current session hasn't been forced-dropped, and your current cookies are still working. You would have to specifically log out, and then log in, to use the new system. The process is automated and uses the new system the next time you login on any of our network sites.
If you log in on say wetalk.tv and then browse to wetalkmovies.net, or wetalkgames.net, you should notice you are logged in. Making it a lot more convenient browsing our network communities.

Smilies Update:
Brian has worked hard on having the smilies moved to a dedicated URL, this means if you load them on one site they're properly cached, and load faster on another site that we run. This benefits you obviously with page loads. Additionally we've introduced new smilies. A great smilies pack made by mf has replaced our long lasting vbfans.com smilies from the ProStyle. You can view our new smilies (and learn how to use them) on this page: wetalknation.net - Smilies Enjoy

The wetalk network acquired the web site : nintendodistrict.com in the last week. And we're in the process of importing the database over into the wetalkgames.net site.
All the members, threads, posts, etc will remain in tact. And we will try our best to properly organize the imported data so it makes sense for the old members as well as the new ones.
It's possible content for "tv" or "movies" might end up on wetalk.tv or wetalkmovies.net - but your login will work on all the communities. And all the threads/posts are linked to your profile.
Here's a page with detailed information so you know how far we are into the import: http://wetalkgames.net/nintendo.html
Welcome new members! To your new home. We are very happy to have you on board, and can't wait to read your posts and participate in your discussions.

Hello,
You are receiving this email because you are a member on the nintendodistrict.com web site, and there has been an important change that effects your membership.
The web site has acquired by the wetalk network; it's content will show up on mainly http://wetalkgames.net
The web site data has been imported: users, threads, posts, polls, private msgs, avatars, etc.
You are registered on the wetalk network as:
username: x ( with userid: x )
email: x
password: your old password will still work.
Please update your bookmarks, as the new domain will be wetalkgames.net.
Here is how this effects your account:
The new situation is: you are automatically accepted as a new member. But you have the option to opt-out and request to have your account deleted. You can reply to this email requesting your account to be deleted. Your posts will then show up as 'guest' posts under your old name, and your account will be pruned. Of course, we hope you give us the chance to show we are a very nice and thriving network, but we understand you might decide to to discontinue your membership.
The wetalk network is a huge network with up to 10 communities. Every 'topic' basically has its own web site. So tv has wetalktv.net and games has wetalkgames.net.
A user only has to register once, to have access to all the communities. Your login works now on all these sites (and all the sites are owned by Floris and Christopher, no data is shared with third parties). If you login on one site, you are logged in on all the sites. Making it convenient to browse around.
Please allow us some time to import over the data, get everything set up. But we invite you to come check out the new place and get familiar with it. You're always free to email us with questions.
http://wetalkgames.net/nintendo.html has some information too. Including an invitation for the ND members to apply for a volunteer moderator position. Let us know if you're interested.
See you soon!
Floris and the wetalk network staff.

NintendoDistrict.com update.
The import has been completed, the domains have been transferred, and the content is live. Everything went great except for one minor issue, polls might appear above the wrong thread. Yikes! This seems to be a bug with the import script and there's not much we can do about this to fix it. Our apologies for this to happen. And thanks for reporting.
nintendodistrict.com now points to wetalkgames.net
the ND_ prefixed forum names will be renamed back to their original, and/or merged into our site content in the coming weeks.
Games content remains on wetalkgames.net
Offtopic content will be moved to omgboards.com
Announcements content will be merged into the News forum
To just name a few examples
No threads or posts will be deleted. You are part of the wetalk network, and the above urls are all under the wetalk umbrella, so you can login to those urls to find your content.
Thank you all for your patience, and allow us to create new content and participate and see the site grow. We're looking forward to see what you have to post
In the coming week we will also be setting up the staff members, we had a few applicants and we are going to approve everybody that applied!

The wetalk network acquired the web site : thenewtech.com in the last week. And we're in the process of importing the database over into the wetalk network. It will appear under community "tech" with domain thenewtech.com - our wetalkweb.net domain most likely will end up pointing to it too.
All the members, threads, posts, etc will remain in tact. And we will try our best to properly organize the imported data so it makes sense for the old members as well as the new ones.

Imports completed, cleaning up time.
Now that it's March and we've completed our 10 site creation / import and merges, etc, it's time to clean up a little bit. A lot of dupe accounts (members being members on various sites, but also already having an account here) have been auto merged, but also imported with a prefix (imported_) in front of their username.
Part of the auto merge has been completed now. And additionally everybody that has imported_ in front of their username (so a dupe account) who has exactly 0 posts (so not even one) has been pruned from the database.
This should cut down on duplicate emails that some people are perhaps receiving. (on their normal account, and their imported_account).
Your account hasn't been pruned, only the imported_ version (if it had 0 posts).
We went from 24,500+ users to 21,500+ registered user accounts.
Normally we would auto-, or manually merge imported_ back into the real one. But since they had 0 posts, this is extra time we rather use posting on the sites. So no harm done.
